We’re introducing two changes that affect organizations on our Free plan: who can customize the email messages sent through Elorus and how your invoices look when shared with clients
Since Elorus was founded, every user, regardless of their plan, has been able to fully customize the emails sent to clients: creating custom email templates, and editing the subject and body of any message right before sending it.
This same flexibility has also made email customization a frequent target for spammers trying to route unsolicited messages through Elorus. We’ve added several layers of protection over the years, and although they block the large majority of attempts, the volume has grown alongside Elorus itself. What’s at stake is shared: every spam message that gets through affects the email deliverability of every legitimate business on the platform, including yours. For this reason, we’re changing who can customize emails.
To better protect all of our users, organizations on the Free plan will no longer be able to create their own email templates, or edit the subject and body of the messages sent to clients. You can still email invoices, estimates, and other documents to your clients as usual, using the templates our team has designed and approved to cover these needs.
Note: Email template and message customization remain fully available on all paid subscription plans.
If you rely on custom messaging for client communication, upgrading to a paid plan will keep full control over your email templates and content.
Every invoice has a permanent link that you can share with your clients, letting them view and pay it online. From now on, organizations on the Free plan will see a small banner on this shared page, letting visitors know the invoice was created with Elorus.
If your organization is on a paid subscription, nothing changes for your clients: the banner is removed, and only a discreet “Created with Elorus” note remains at the bottom of the page.
